IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS!

This has been a whirlwind of a month. 

We began with just as much nervousness as we're ending with. (Maybe that's the nature of Kickstarter; maybe as creators, we are destined for a life of sleepless nights.) But the energy is electric! We have been working our tails off to get this game onto as many tables as possible, and we owe all this momentum to you--the Doomlings Community.

We DESTROYED our last three stretch goals, which opened up Stickers in the Add-On Store, a Blue Kickstarter Exclusive Trait and the incredible SEA KINGDOMS! 

Beyond the Age's game rule, which allows you to play TWO traits this round, this card is incredibly special. Sea Kingdoms is by far, the most detailed Age we've ever created. There are so many hidden Easter Eggs in there for fans of the subsurface. We consider this the Crown Jewel of the Doomlings Universe.

THERE'S MORE!

As a bonus age for all our Gold Bundle backers, we're adding AGE OF JOY to your game as a 'thank you' for all your support! 

Beyond the harkening to the autumn days, Age of Joy is a great age for card cycling. Players can either draw one card at the start of their turn, or discard two and stabilize at the end of their turn. Depending on the shape of your hand or your particular play-style, Age of Joy is a card you'll certainly be longing for. 

MEANING OF LIFE

Everyone's been blowing us up about this, wondering when we're gonna see the Meaning of Life and how it works. Today is the day. 

This expansion is a twist on the game that we recommend using after you've conquered the classic game of Doomlings. The Meaning of Life introduces Hidden Player Objectives into a game! Here are three things to know...

• Unlike our other expansions, these cards aren’t added into the community trait pile. Instead, players draw from the deck of hidden objective cards to discover their species’ “purpose in life.”
• Each hidden objective contains a secret reward that you will reveal to your opponents at the end of the game. For example, if you have 0 purple traits at the end = 7 bonus points These hidden objectives are often very tempting, like: have lowest score at the end of the game = 12 bonus points (Fans of "shooting the moon" in Hearts will love this one!)
• These Meaning of Life bonuses can be the deciding factor in victory (because of how close most games are.) Last week, for example, Eric scored a whopping NINE bonus points points, which ended up winning him the game! Check out last week's LIVE STREAM! 

All in all, the Meaning of Life is an expansion that adds even MORE re-playability, once you’ve got the hang of Doomlings. It will also keep you guessing what your opponents are up to the entire time!

 ONE. FINAL. STRETCH GOAL! 

It’s here, the final challenge for our undefeated community. The mission, should you choose to accept it, is hit either 9000 backers, 1800 Facebook Shares, or 2200 total Doomlings Community Facebook members. Whichever happens first!

If we meet this goal, we will unlock: 

•  +2 Mystery Holofoils for every Gold Box (3 total)  
•  +1 Mystery Holofoil for every Blackbox (2 total)  
•  + PRIDE will be added to every Classic Game (1 total mystery Holofoil) 

**While we have done everything in our power to ensure no backer will receive duplicates (there are 19 different Holos printed randomly), we cannot control this completely from the factory level. If you are one of the rare humans to receive a duplicate of the same Holofoil, we encourage you to trade with someone from the community.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYERMATS IN THE ADD-ON STORE!

We took a poll last week, and we had an overwhelming response from you. (2440  responded!!) The #1 requested item in the Add-On store (70% of all respondents) was Individual Playermats. You asked for it, we are going to deliver!

These playmats represent a diversity of landscapes for your species to play from, as well as different times of the day on the planet Enderas. Practically, they guide individual players to organize their trait pile, gene pool, and dominant cards efficiently. They will be approximately 12” x 23” and printed on vibrant neoprene! (Same as the community playmat, which is already included in the Gold Bundle.) 

The Add-On store will be available after the end of the campaign, through BackerKit.

(**These are mockups, and have yet to be re-designed/outfitted by Justus for gameplay. The final playmats will be inspired by these Ages, but finessed to include positioning for your traits, gene pool, and dominants. Stay tuned!)

STICKERS IN THE ADD-ON STORE!

Another stretch goal we unlocked was the addition of stickers to the Add-On store! We will be releasing 3 collections containing five vinyl die-cut stickers each (the kind you might put on a water bottle or helmet.) They will be approximately 4" wide. (Add-On store will be available after the end of the campaign, through BackerKit.)

FINAL THOUGHTS...

With 48 hours remaining, we have no idea where the coming days will take us. We had no idea we'd be even here, when we started! We're experiencing all this all unfold, the same as you: amazed by the power of our community. If you have a second, please share our campaign one last time to see just how far we can go. Wherever this Kickstarter finishes, we know 3 things to be true:

Wow, it feels like an eternity ago that we all stayed up late into the night, putting the finishing touches on our Kickstarter page. (Actually, the tweaks went right into the morning, until about ten min before launch.) Each day has felt like an adrenaline-fueled laser-beam of sunshine. And now we only have one week left!

Stretch Goals UNLOCKED!

This Doomlings Community is unlike anything we’ve ever been a part of: we had FIVE HUNDRED SHARES in 72 Hours!! Incredible.

We’ve cleared two new Stretch Goals, unlocking Digital Wallpaper Downloads for all backers, as well as a Kickstarter Exclusive Colorless Trait for every pledge level. Ladies and gentlemen, we introduce to you our Doomliest Doomling yet, BONES.

We Still Have MORE STRETCH GOALS!

Looking ahead, we still have time to achieve more content (and knowing this community, we will absolutely meet the moment.) Our next three goals unlock Stickers in the Add-On Store, a Kickstarter Exclusive Age: SEA KINGDOMS, and a Blue Kickstarter Exclusive Trait added to every game!

SPOTLIGHT: KICKSTARTER FIRST EDITIONS!!

OK, so we briefly touched on Motley and Fulfilled, but they're both worth a closer look...

•  Motley: this powerful Dominant trait comes into play as every color simultaneously. This can help you rack up color-bonus points from multiple cards. It can also simultaneously fulfill color set collection requirements to gain other points, or play other cards. It’s a powerful tool that acts as a catch all for a variety of strategies!
•  Fulfilled: This Gold card is not a color, nor is it colorless. It is simply Gold. It falls just short of a Dominant trait in terms of power, as a whopping 4 points with no downside. It carries the benefit of a Dominant in that it can't be swapped, stolen, or discarded, without actually taking up a Dominant trait slot. As a Kickstarter Exclusive, this will never be printed again!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

Notice the small stars at the bottom of the cards? This indicates a FIRST EDITION PRINT, and will now appear on EVERY CARD IN THE GAME—exclusive only to our Kickstarter Backers!

CHRISTMAS GIFT SHIPPING:    

Many of you are purchasing more than one copy, as gifts for the Holidays. (The H word gives us the chills too, when we say it this early in the year.) But it’s true, Doomlings will be delivering in time for Christmas gifts, so it totally makes sense!  For those of you interested in shipping to multiple addresses, this is possible! You’ll need to message us in BackerKit, and we’ll create a custom order for you. From there, you can have multiple games arrive at multiple houses!     

THE GOLD BOX

For those of you wondering, "How gold will the Gold Box be?"

It will be VERY gold. "Like something from an Indiana Jones movie!" Eric recently said on a call with our manufacturer.   We are still working with AdMagic to produce a prototype that meets our creative vision, however we can confirm we will be using METALLIC INK, similar to this example below.  We will likely also be adding a gloss finish, to give the box that extra slick sheen. Rest assured, this will feel like an artifact you will want to surround with boobytraps and snakes.

Here ye, here ye! Your name and backer number, shall live in infamy on the website of the Doomlings! It will be a long list, no doubt it will take many pixels, but we will be creating a record of what happened here. And with the unlocking of the Baking Challenge, the Doomlings Community hath unlocked its place in history…

WITH NINE DAYS LEFT... Unleash the NEW Stretch Goals!

Looking ahead, we have three new Stretch Goals on the horizon. These are super easy: simply share the campaign on Facebook and help unlock the next rewards! (First up, when we hit 750 shares, we’ll get digital wallpaper downloads for everyone!) Ever wanted Age of Peace on your tablet or smartphone? Now’s the time to take action!

We opened up the sharing challenge yesterday, and things exploded! The page was shared 122x on the first day! It just goes to show how much energy there is in this campaign!! We are so grateful for you.

Spotlight: Techlings II

Introducing three new Techlings into the Doomlings universe! This expansion introduces attachments to the game, and is included in every Gold Box Bundle...

•  Hyper-Myelination (purple) - This little crypto-critter's value is equal to the size of the highest Gene Pool on the table. (Not bad!) 
•  Phreakish Eyes (red) - Gets you out of a jam: allows you to draw 3 cards, but your opponents also get to draw 1... Timing is everything!
•  Transgenic Modification (green) - Attach this trait to another non-green trait. The Host trait is now green in addition to its true color! (This will come in handy with color-based bonuses at the end.)

It is becoming quite clear, the Doomlings Community is a freaking powerhouse! From the entire collection of purple traits becoming cookies, to Tiny becoming a cake, to Juicy becoming his own T-shirt, you all are absolutely incredible! We are so humbled, proud, and inspired by YOU.
